Hola! Que Tal
Posted by Danny Linton on September 02, 1997 at 16:01:46:

Hey Everybody! My name is Dan Linton and I went to ZHS during the fall of 1970 as a freshman. I was from Seville and lived in the Dorm. I left ZHS in the spring of 71 and moved to Sembach Germany. I left there in the summer of 72 and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC where I graduated in 74. I now live in Columbia SC. I'm looking for people who knew me, especially people from Seville e.g., Mike Berlin, Earl Atwater, Vicki Theriault, Doug Wright). Where are you guys? How are you? The reunion sounds great! I wish I had known sooner. If you think you know me you know what to do.

I forgot to mention, I also attended Zaragoza Elementary School from 1970 to 1974 (3rd - 6th grades). Send me an e-mail if you remember me.

I found a picture taken of Anthony while he was at ZAB (either during a practice or game), and was wondering if anyone knows where he is these days. I submitted it for the gallery, but who knows? I also found some other slides taken in school, so beware what you may see in the future! (Oh, that's right, bell-bottoms are back, aren't they?!)

Reunion '97

Posted by Mike Bass on September 07, 1997 at 22:08:24:

Just wanted to say what a great time that I had at the reunion in Dallas this weekend. It was really special to see so many people that I shared an important part of my "formative" years with. My wife was very impressed at the easy way that she was included in activities, events, etc. Not being from a military brat background, she was not used to the quick acceptance when dealing with people that she had just met. I want to say again what a great job everyone involved with the planning and execution of this reunion did. I think that all of the hard work paid off. I can't wait to get together again. Thanks to all.

BEST REUNION EVER !

Posted by Leanna Joynt Jenner on September 07, 1997 at 23:18:10:

First of all "Thank - you!" to all of the people that worked so very hard to get this together! I left this reunion knowing that all of the old friends, and all of the new friends, feel very loved! I love you all!!! I miss you again, already, and I can't wait to do it again! Su Compadre, Leanna

What a weekend!

Posted by Robert Higginbotham on September 08, 1997 at 09:24:17:

Wow. That's about all I can say. One of the best times I've ever had; and it was great to see all of you that I could remember and those of you that I couldn't. Major salutes to Steve Stone for such an excellent job. I don't think anyone else could have pulled off such an event so flawlessly. I hereby nominate Steve as Organizer for Life. Anyone second the motion?
PS John Othmer, I can't believe you missed this!!!

What a great time last weekend

I just want to say I had a wonderful time, even though when I went to Dallas I didn't know anyone. I also want to thank everyone for taking me in even though I was the "baby". I can't wait for the next one....

I was there 76-79 (7-9th grade). I don't remember you, but go to www.geocities.com/~zaragoza and read about a reunion in 98 that a lot of people from those years will be attending. There's also a picture from our last one.

I found another Zabbie!

This past weekend has inspired me to start looking for my old friends. I have found one, first thing, it took me about two minutes on the internet.. all I had to do was rack my brain to remember her dad's name. Her name is Amanda Hamilton, she lives in Oklahoma City. I've told her about the association and about the reunion in '98 (see my page). She'll be checking in here tonight. WELCOME ABOARD AMANDA.

I didn't notice until I finished unpacking that I am missing the throw-away camera I was taking pictures with out by the pool on Friday night. I had only taken a little more than a dozen pictures and more than half of them were of my 5 yr. old pretending to be a fish. Hopefully, one of you guys picked it up and those shots aren't gone forever. Please contact me. I just got pictures back from the film that I DID manage to keep my hands on. Gee, I wish we were still there. The time went by way too fast.

I found someone who was at Zaragoza in 1956....right before the base opened, in fact he was one of the first residents of what most of you call "the dorms", he was a bomber pilot stationed there.......he said when he was there the only thing on the base was those two barracks.....I thought it was interesting, cause he was there when the base opened, and I was there when it closed.....now he is the president of Navarro Jr. College..... (I hope this isn't too boring or uninteresting)

Reunion 97

Posted by Bill McNett on September 14, 1997 at 14:46:37:

Chris and I had a terrific time. Thanks to Steve Stone and Carrie Peterson and others who obviously put in a lot of thought and work into the weekend. Everyone's acceptance of Chris as my (ahem) 'spouse' or 'significant other' or 'partner' was short of amazing. He felt very welcomed and at no time did we feel ill at ease (other then my feeling a little old, or grey, or...... never mind). I wasn't prepared for how easy it was to pick up where I had left off with so many people, again a product of our military upbringing. It was a great time with great people. Thanks again for a wonderful time.
Bill

Regrets

Jeez, these messages indicate y'all set up the patio furniture next to the edge of the envelope. Sorry I missed it! It's funny how after one of these 'special' events, ya think: "Wow, we can't possibly top that -- no sense trying." And then the next thing you know, it just sort of happens again.

"New and Improved" Message Board

Posted by zhs alum on September 27, 1997 at 13:39:04:

We've added some new features. You can search the current board using a keyword (putting in more than one keyword yields no results, this is being worked on) and you can view today's messages. If you'd like to see messages for a previous day, enter the month, date and a comma - (i.e. September 26,) Soon we'll have a better way of doing this. Responses to posted messages will appear on this board and automatically be e-mailed to the author of the message being replied to. Thanks for your patience during the "reconstruction phase". Hope you enjoy the new message board and please let us know if you encounter any problems with it.

I also got 18 out of 20, is the winner the one who gets the most first? Also, that Wayne Newton was not a 72 top ten hit was it? I had a list of the top ten from 72 and that wasn't one of them.

When more than one entry has the same number of correct answers, the entry that was received first will be the winner. My list has "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast" as the #6 song for the year in 1972. I don't have the URL handy, but I have it printed out. Where did your list come from?
